Now if there’s one thing that most veterinary practice teams are good at, it’s eating cake. It’s a longstanding industry giggle that cake helps a day in practice go by. As a collective, the Wicstun gang certainly have a sweet tooth and we have some super bakers amongst us – we also love to help people and to give our clients a treat; cue a Tracy Hardcastle idea….
On Thursday 14th June, team members across Market Weighton, Pocklington and South Cave surgeries baked and brought in over 150 cupcakes to be enjoyed by staff and clients alike (sadly, not patients!) and any kind donations for charity could be made.
We’re very proud (and our waistbands are slightly embarrassed) to say that by early afternoon there wasn’t a crumb left! Not one! Between the wonderful visitors to our surgeries and our insatiable team members we devoured over 150 pieces of home baking. That’s real commitment to a challenge for you.
Aside from the fun had on the day, each kind donation helped to raise over £140 for The Alzheimer’s Society, which is simply fantastic.
Thank you so much to everyone who took part and to the kind people of Market Weighton, Pocklington and South Cave who joined in with the fun.
We’re very pleased to say that the event will be repeated regularly!
