Jo, Steph and Bridie visit local school children!

Beautiful Bridie lends a paw to helping local children
Pupils aged between 3 and 6 years old, at Saint Mary’s RC primary school, Market Weighton, had plenty of fun recently during a visit from Wicstun team members, Jo, Steph and youngster Bridie, the Labrador.
With help from her knowledgeable assistants, Bridie taught the children how to approach dogs safely and how to touch and handle them. Known for being very gentle and patient, she was the ideal tutor and proud owner, Wicstun vet John, was very happy for her to go along.

What went on in ‘vets corner’?
Much fun was had as the children made a ‘vets corner’ in the room. Jo and Steph gave demonstrations on bandaging, the children dressed up as vets, they showed some xrays, asked questions about what pets the children had, asked and talked about how to look after pets. They also talked about what veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses do.

The children were very excited about Bridie visiting their classroom! Everybody was very well behaved and the children asked really good questions. Once her work was done, Bridie went home for a rest – apparently she was exhausted and slept for hours!
Well done Bridie and thank you to the teachers and pupils at Saint Mary’s RC Primary School, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
