Huge congratulations to Wicstun vet nurse Amber!
Following six months of hard work we are absolutely delighted to announce that RVN Amber has passed additional nursing qualifications, successfully completing the BVNA Wound Management Certificate.
During her studies Amber had to conduct clinical audits and increase her already significant knowledge of tissues, aetiology, complications, phases of healing, dressings, best practice updates, clinical performance structures and more – phew, we’re tired just reading the list! She managed to do all of this whilst keeping on top of her important duties at Wicstun.
Why wound management?
Wounds come in many different shapes, sizes and levels of severity – from accidents to skin infections, the road to recovery can be a long one. Patience, skill and team work between veterinary staff and pet owners alike are often required to get a patient back to full health.
Amber’s expertise will help pet owners and the Wicstun gang ensure that wounds are looked after using the most current techniques, and that the best possible chance of healing is encouraged. She will be available to offer guidance and advice to all pet owners looking after wounds at home.
Well done Amber! We’re super proud of you!
