Amber Guthrie

Amber Guthrie

Senior RVN & Clinical Standards & Educational Lead

Amber qualified in 2013 after successfully completing five years’ study towards a Veterinary Nursing degree. She came to Wicstun as a locum nurse but loved the practice so much she took a permanent position in 2017. In 2021, Amber was promoted to Clinical Standards and Educational Lead.

Amber enjoys all aspects of nursing and has a particular interest in theatre nursing and anaesthesia, dentistry and wound management, and has now gained her BVNA certificate in wound management. She is also our Clinical Standards Coordinator and oversees the implementation and maintaining of the highest standard of care across all our Wicstun sites. Amber is a Clinical Coach and is keen to support juniors in their learning and training.

She is an advocate of the ‘cat friendly’ approach (this is a type of practice ethos and doesn’t suggest that practices aren’t cat friendly!)

Amber is a keen traveller and adrenaline junkie. Her most recent trip involved sky diving, zip lining and caving in New Zealand. A self confessed water baby, Amber has her open water scuba diving certificate and can often be found kayaking and swimming. She is a keen hiker and is about to tackle the UK ‘Coast to Coast’
