REGISTERED VETERINARY NURSE
The Wicstun Veterinary Group is expanding their nursing team!!

- Full time, 40 hours p/week
- Salary: £22,500.00-£26,000.00 per year
- 5x 8 hour shifts for better work/life balance
- 1:6 weekends
- Salary dependent on experience
- No on call or OOH duties
- Bank holidays on shared rota
- CDP encouraged and funded
The role is full time and we now have a dedicated night team, meaning no on call/night duties to ensure our nursing team experiences real work/life balance.
You will be predominately based at our hospital with occasional work at branches and sister practices within the group.

SMALL ANIMAL VET SURGEON
Wicstun Vets are looking for a Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join their team.

We’re progressive, supportive, and keen to develop our people. We are proud to offer our own OOH service to our clients and as such, you will be involved in the continued care for your patients. Our own Vets share the rota on a 1:7 basis with generous time off in lieu and we have a dedicated night nursing and support team. We have three sites within the group and work closely with 3 sister practices in the local area. You will be predominately based at our hospital with occasional work at other sites.
As a Wicstun Vet Surgeon you will have the opportunity to use and develop a broad range of clinical and client focussed skills. We will support you in the development of your areas of special interest. We are lucky to have certificate holders in both small animal surgery and small animal medicine within the senior veterinary team. NIGHT/ECC VET SURGEON
Wicstun Vets are looking for Night Vet Surgeons to join the team! We are a 16 strong Vet Surgeon team and looking to expand into a dedicated night vet team. We are building a dedicated Night Veterinary Surgeon team at our hospital in Market Weighton. We have a dedicated Night Nursing and Nurse Support team already in place who work on a shared rota.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for ECC and have experience working in a hospital environment. The role does include potential to study towards ECC certificate for the right person if desired.
You will work alongside a dedicated on-site ECC nurse, as well as nursing support staff for additional support during night shifts. Case handovers at the beginning and end of every shift allowing plenty of time for clinical discussion.
The rota and shifts are to be discussed.
Our RCVS accredited hospital is purpose built and very well equipped! Facilities include CT, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and more. We also have a dedicated rehabilitation suite, 3 theatres and dog and cat only consult rooms, dedicated wards and clinics (as well as much more!). Annualised package and benefits include:
- £55,000 – £65,000 DOE

Skills and experience:
- Must be confident working sole charge with the ability and confidence to make sound clinical decisions.
- Must be confident and have experience stabilising acute medical cases and emergency surgeries.
- Night/emergency experience is desirable but not essential

Registered Veterinary Night Nurse – Maternity Cover (9-12 months)
The Wicstun Veterinary Group is looking for an experienced nurse to join their dedicated Night Nurse team at our 24-hour hospital in Market Weighton. This is a maternity cover and will be on a fixed term contract. There is potential to remain with the group following initial term.
As a Night Nurse with Wicstun, you will be joining a team of over 30 nursing and nursing support staff with years of experience, an abundance of support and simply a super friendly bunch! The night team has 3 dedicated nurses working on a shared rota, with Kennel Assistants on site with you always. We see a varied case load of both medical and surgical. As a night nurse you must work well independently as well as part of our fabulous night team.
- 7 on, 14 off rota
- 8pm – 8am
- £29,127 p/a (pro rata) (inc. holiday allowance)
- Fixed term contract

Careers in the Veterinary Profession
Wicstun Vets are proud to be an accredited Training Practice for Veterinary Nurses. We have a number of clinical coaches on our team and we thoroughly enjoy guiding our students through their practical and academic studies. We have a structured approach to gaining practical experience in line with learning – there’s always a healthy dose of fun to help everything along.
We welcome student vets to spend time with us whilst studying towards their Veterinary Medicine Degree. This helps them to gain insight into everyday day life in practice. Many of our Veterinary Team spent time with us as students, some of them a long time ago! It’s always great to welcome them back.
Our support teams are here to look after the many non-clinical aspects of life in veterinary practice. Health and Safety, human resources, business administration, customer care, operational running – our support teams form a vital part of providing veterinary services. We welcome people from a variety of backgrounds and experience to the team.
